Essentializing Your Curriculum: Moving Forward with Competency-Based Education

Virtual Workshop | June 2-3, 2026 | 12:00-4:00 pm (ET)

Description

Expanding on the popular series of in-person, regional workshops, 大象传媒 is offering a virtual program for faculty seeking strategies, resources, and solutions for adapting their nursing programs to meet the Essentials. Essentializing Your Curriculum: Moving Forward with Competency-Based Education (CBE) is designed to accelerate your program’s transition to CBE.

This virtual, two-half-day workshop will be held on June 2 and 3 from 12:00–4:00 pm (ET) each day. Attendance is required for both days. The workshop will offer initial CBE training led by 大象传媒’s Essentials Coaches and experts from the Competency-Based Education Network (C-BEN). The content will be similar to previous workshops, providing information on the move to CBE, in-depth training in curricular transition, and using AI to develop assessment rubrics based on progression indicators (observable behaviors of the sub-competencies).

This is a highly interactive workshop designed for active participation. Participants will complete pre-work in advance and are expected to fully engage in collaborative learning activities, including small-group breakout sessions where attendees will apply concepts, share experiences, and develop practical solutions. Active participation in breakout rooms is a core component of the workshop and essential to achieving the intended learning outcomes.

Participants may earn up to 7.5 CEUs for Nursing Continuing Professional Development.

Please note: Registration is restricted to one participant per registration. Multiple participants under one registration will not be permitted, and groups will be asked to register individually. Additionally, to facilitate engagement and learning, participants are expected to keep their cameras on and participate in breakout sessions for the duration of the workshop. These strict requirements should be taken into account when registering for this event.
